Most of my life I moved around alot between the Midwest and for a period of time out to Portland, Oregon. One musician I have always seemed to miss seeing perform live was B.B. King. With the help of friend, I had the privilege to catch B.B. King performing LIVE at the Effingham Performance Center, in Effingham, Illinois on May 29, 2013. It was one of the last live performances the legendary blues musician gave in the St.Louis region before he died in 2015.
Our tickets were in Row M, and I had just come from my photojournalist job at the Edwardsville Intelligencer newspaper and had my camera equipment with me. Fortunately, the allowed me to bring in my camera, so I captured these photos.
In honor of the WashMo BBQ & Bluesfest happening in Washington, Missouri this next week-end, April 26th, 27th, and 28th, I will be giving away FREE Prints of this photographic print of B.B. King performing LIVE at that Effingham concert on May 29, 2013.
I will be participating with the Washington Art Walk also happening this week-end. My artwork will be on display at Oak and Front Kitchen + Bar at 120 W. Front Street in Washington, Missouri. I will be there on April 26th from 5p-8p and April 27th 10a-3p. The FREE prints will be available at my display, but I have a limited amount so stop by early.
Also available at my display will be copies of my newly released photographic zine called Catching Light: Vol. 1 “The Spark.“ This is a signed and numbered collection of some of my photographic artwork from the past 25 years. More of my artwork can be seen on display in the Events room, upstairs at Oak & Front as well.
